"Johnny Cat" Soubrand has held the down the dual lead spot as guitarist (recording and touring) with Terry Hanck for most of eight years. A West Coast native, he was born in San Francisco, lived in Santa Cruz logging lots of time at Moe's Alley and performed/toured with many other Bay Area blues notables including Andy Santana and the Chrome Addicts. He has made records with Chris "Kid" Andersen, Andy Santana, Earl Thomas, Russell Barber Band and Jimmy Dewrance. Fans know his clean, crisp swinging tone from his Gibson Gold Top Les Paul and Fender Strat. They also know that he takes his inspiration from the Mt. Rushmore of Kings: B.B., Albert and Freddie.
Butch Cousins- Drums
Butch Cousins, the man who "drives the bus"--i.e.the backbeat, the drummer-- says that what folks need to know about him simply boils down to "I enjoy the song--eveything for the sake of the song." He notes like-minded colleagues such as the great New Orleans drummer Earl Palmer as a key hero, likewise Jim Keltner, Steve Jordan, Kevin Hayes and Al Jackson. Tim Wagar - Bass
Tim Wagar has been an integral part of the Bay Area music scene since moving there from Michigan in 1974, backing such blues greats as Laverne Baker, Lowell Fulson, Brownie McGhee, Charles Brown, Charlie Musselwhite, and Jimmy McCracklin. In the mid-eighties, Tim recorded with and toured the U.S. and Europe with Mark Hummel & the Blues Survivors. He has played bass on numerous independent recording projects with Steve Freund, Mike Henderson, Kenny "Blue" Ray, Jackie Payne, Jimi Bott, Mighty Mike Schermer, and can be heard with Taj Mahal on the 1997 CD, Shakin' A Tail Feather.
